Ingredients

  • 225g self raising flour and add 1 heaped teaspoon of baking powder
  • 60g butter or margarine
  • 45g sugar
  • 100ml milk
  • 1 level teaspoon of salt
 
 

Method

Rub the butter finely into the sifted flour

Dissolve salt and sugar in the milk and add to flour. Mix lightly to a soft clear dough

Turn out onto a floured board and cut into rounds of about 1 inch thick and brush with milk.

Place on a floured baking tray and cook near top of a preheated oven. Gas 9 Electric 300C for 10 -12 minutes of until golden brown Cool on a wire tray
