Ednam Village

Welcome to the Village of Ednam website.

Ednam is a small vibrant community in the heart of the Scottish borders, situated only a mile or so from The Market town of Kelso. Places nearby include Stichill, Sprouston, Nenthorn, Eccles, Gordon, Greenlaw as well as Floors Castle. The village was formerly in Roxburghshire. Its name is a corruption of the Anglo-Saxon "Edenham", i.e. the town on Eden Water.

Near the village is a knoll called The Piper´s Grave. It is named after a legend that a local piper once went searching for fairies in the hill, and was never seen again. The story of Ednam began over 900 years ago. There has been a church on this site since 1105AD.

Enjoy the website, and find out about Ednam´s famous sons and feel free to get in touch with us on our Contact Page
